Responsibilities:

  • Assessing new markets based on strategic fit, financial performance and growth potential
  • Recommending new routes and bases to add to the network. Developing financial forecasts for potential new routes and bases
  • Assessing and interpreting market, economic and industry trends and the impact on route choice
  • Assessing competition in terms of strategic plans, capacity changes, strengths / weaknesses and recommending actions based on the risks and opportunities
  • Managing the airport mix to ensure it does not exceed budgeted costs
  • Closely working together with other areas:
  • With Scheduling and Slots team on projects related to new aircraft deployments and seasonal loadings to ensure effective and successful schedule design
  • With the Revenue Management team and Airport Development teams to determine new opportunities as well as amendments to existing routes, frequencies and airports
  • With Government affairs team to assess and unlock designations and traffic rights for new market developments
  • Building relationships with airports and third parties (regions, tourism bodies, Civil Aviation Authorities etc.)
  • To be successful in the role he/she will need to continuously look for improvements and developments in the current tools and processes of Network area. Therefore an innovative, process-driven mindset with strong technical skills is essential.

 

Requirements:

  • Completed university degree in business, economics or other numerical subject
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in either of network, revenue management, commercial planning, strategy, management consulting or alternatively in an analytical role
  • Excellent numerical and problem solving skills
  • Good understanding of core economic concepts and principles
  • Business mindset and ability to synthesize information into recommendations
  • Strong sense of business ownership and accountability for own portfolio
  • A highly motivated, proactive individual
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Ability to work in team and also independently
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Openness to live and work in Budapest, Hungary (relevant permit can be obtained for successful applicants)
  • Limited travel required
